Awards Manager
Randy Hatt, AA8R, is the MARAC Awards Manager. This is one of the most important positions in the club. The Awards Manager is responsible for processing, mailing, and announcing news awards.. If you have specific questions or comments about an award please e-mail the Awards Manager.
The CQ Magazine USA-CA Award and MARAC Awards
The first achievement in county hunting is usually to work and confirm all 3077 United States counties. The initial award for working all US Counties ( USA-CA ) is sponsored by CQ Magazine.
In addition to sponsoring awards for working all USA Counties a 2nd, 3rd (or even a 12th time!), there are many awards that MARAC offers that do not require a USA-CA award. Many of the more popular MARAC awards include Bingo, Master Gold, the Big Rig Award, awards for working YL's or YL-OM teams, and many awards for mobile county hunters who give out contacts from counties around the USA.
The Awards Manager also heads the Awards Committee. The Award Committee is responsible for making sure the rules for each award stay current and they will modify the requirements from time to time as required. The Awards Committee is also responsible for creating the rules for any new awards that might be proposed.
